Seaton & Colyton Medical Practice is pleased to announce the launch of a new Minor Injuries Service, now available to anyone living in Seaton and the surrounding villages—not just registered patients.
The service is strictly for minor injuries sustained within the past 48 hours only. It is not intended for illness or longer-term conditions, which should continue to be managed through patients’ registered GP practices or other usual healthcare routes.
Patients presenting with eligible recent injuries (within 48 hours) will be able to access assessment and treatment during normal practice opening hours (weekdays, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays).
As the service does not include X-ray facilities, patients with suspected fractures or more serious injuries will still need to attend Minor Injury Units in Honiton or emergency services in Exeter where appropriate.
Due to current service capacity, the Minor Injuries Service will be delivered alongside existing clinical duties by GPs, an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Patients may therefore experience short waiting times, and telephone contact in advance is strongly encouraged so that an appropriate appointment time can be offered where possible.
